Manhattan

Well it was quite the busy weekend in Manhattan. I did a wide variety of shoots for Manhattan Magazine which is published by The Lawrence Journal World. It's pretty cool to get to meet such a wide variety of people and also try out some new techniques along the way.

I started the weekend at the insect zoo that is on the Kansas State Campus. There were two families that came through while I was there. It is a pretty neat little place, lots of bugs and lots to learn.

This is Kye, he was there with his Dad

And here is a neat formation of butterflies

Next, I photographed two English Language Program teachers from Kansas State who had just returned from helping set up a new program in Kabul, Afghanistan. They provided some photos of their own and I took this portrait.

Another story involves a few fountains from around the city. Here are two that I have photographed thus far.

and another

Finally, I finished up the trip with a little golf and a stop by Don's Railroad Hobby Shop. He was a very interesting man to speak with and hear his story. Don has been around the railroad his entire life and loves every minute of it.

Thanks for looking and don't forget to make your appointments for senior portraits! I am working on getting some new locations to shoot at that should be a lot of fun.

Facebook

So I decided to make a new facebook profile, Adam Dean, to promote my photography. There is also a group, Adam Dean Photography. I started running my first facebook ad as well directed at getting some new business. I know a bunch of you are on facebook, so add me as a friend and join the group. There will be lots of discounts and freebies so keep an eye out. I did some portraits of Taylor and also his little brother. Those will be up shortly!

Seniors of 2009

This school year went by way too fast. I am gearing up for summer and a new crop of awesome seniors. I have been working on some new techniques and styles that should really take my photography to the next level. New equipment, new techniques, new programs, but still Adam Dean Photography. My younger brother, Alex, will be a senior this year so it should be a lot of fun shooting him and his friends. I have been working on some ads for the high school papers and also some new discount cards. Keep an eye out for those...

We can only hope the weather starts getting better or at least a little bit more predictable :)

I will be finishing up this year in school around the 15th and will be off to Europe for a few weeks after. Make sure you make your appointments early so that you can get the times that work around your vacation schedule!

It's been awhile!

Well it has definitely been awhile since my last post. Things have been going really well in the photography area and also in general.

In November I took some pictures of Kelsey

and also of Kylie, a senior from Shawnee Mission South.

Everyone has been thrilled with the pictures and the word is starting to spread. I can't wait for either some snow or for spring to hurry up and get here so I can keeping shooting those seniors. I recently purchased a new Canon 5D and 24-105mm lens. It is absolutely amazing.
My first shoot was with Elijah for their Christmas card

School is almost over, only one day left...

Check out my flickr site, http://www.flickr.com/photos/adh91 , to see some of my newest pictures. They are from Moab, UT while on a trip with the KU rock climbing club. I am currently without my car because of a rock in the middle of I-70. I have a few shoots coming up so that should be exciting!!
