Oops

That went out the door pretty quickly! Car issues came up as well as order fulfillment, oh and this darn weather. I have a ton of photos I need to blog about. There also might be a new website coming soon as well...

New Goal

Alright, so I am going to try and post a new shot at least every other day. I have a lot of photos to show off so check back often! This one comes from a few friends of mine who go mountain biking around Lawrence. They all work together at a local bike shop. It was literally done in about 5 minutes because of dwindling light and them wanting to get riding. Two bare speedlights, camera right and left.

Summer goes by so fast

Everything sure is flying by this summer. It has been a lot of fun thus far with the seniors of 2009. I thought I would post a few shots of the seniors thus far. July is almost all booked up, so make sure you give me a ring before it too late. Also, don't forget about the deadline for senior ads in the yearbook!

Getting Busy

Things sure are picking up! The Europe trip wasn't what I had hoped, but a good learning experience nonetheless. I shot Laura's photos on Wednesday and am gearing up for Chris' later today. Her photos should be up soon, they are stunning. She was definitely a natural and a joy to shoot. Her mom is a pretty good reflector holder as well! More to follow. Sessions are starting to book up, but it's not too late to get an appointment. I have been finding lots of new locations, so get them while they're hot.

Europe!

Ahhh, last final is today in about 2 hours. Then it is off to Manhattan for one last photo shoot. Write a paper on Sunday, State Golf tourney on Monday at Shadow Glen, Cure concert that night and off to Berlin on Tuesday evening. That makes me feel exhausted just typing about it. I will be gone until June 3rd, so please be patient on emails, I will return them ASAP. Also, I will not have my cell phone for use, so if you really need to get a hold of me, please send an email. Hopefully, everyone has received their letters and the promotional card. I can't wait to get back and to start shooting some 2009 seniors!

Manhattan

Well it was quite the busy weekend in Manhattan. I did a wide variety of shoots for Manhattan Magazine which is published by The Lawrence Journal World. It's pretty cool to get to meet such a wide variety of people and also try out some new techniques along the way.

I started the weekend at the insect zoo that is on the Kansas State Campus. There were two families that came through while I was there. It is a pretty neat little place, lots of bugs and lots to learn.

This is Kye, he was there with his Dad

And here is a neat formation of butterflies

Next, I photographed two English Language Program teachers from Kansas State who had just returned from helping set up a new program in Kabul, Afghanistan. They provided some photos of their own and I took this portrait.

Another story involves a few fountains from around the city. Here are two that I have photographed thus far.

and another

Finally, I finished up the trip with a little golf and a stop by Don's Railroad Hobby Shop. He was a very interesting man to speak with and hear his story. Don has been around the railroad his entire life and loves every minute of it.

Thanks for looking and don't forget to make your appointments for senior portraits! I am working on getting some new locations to shoot at that should be a lot of fun.
